Fraedom recognised for having an outstanding team culture

Fraedom news

Earlier this week we attended the CIO Awards ceremony in Auckland, New Zealand, where we’re excited to announce that Fraedom was pronounced winner of the Best ICT (Information Communications and Technology) Team Culture Award.

Our industry is constantly challenged to find top talent in a high demand labour market, so fostering an excellent team culture and retaining and cultivating a diverse workforce is a priority. We spoke about this topic recently, in an article published in the Global Banking and Finance Review.

Being awarded for our efforts in this area is such an exciting milestone. It is testament to the hard work we have all put in to ensure that our company culture is one where people feel engaged, motivated and empowered – one where we all thrive together as one team.

Our CEO, Kyle Ferguson, commented: “This is an amazing achievement for us. It speaks to our people - of course, as we have some of the best in the business - but it also speaks to our philosophy. We believe in giving people the opportunity to excel in an agile, collaborative and innovative environment where talent is not only discovered but nurtured and rewarded too.”

So, what makes our culture unique? Despite rapid growth globally, we’ve managed to retain a ‘start-up’/family culture; one we’re extremely proud of. One of the called-out successes has been within our technology team, which has grown to include over 200 people. The team runs a flat, non-hierarchical structure which we have called the ‘Practice Model’. This means no corporate hierarchy, no managers, team leaders or direct reports, but instead, an environment encouraging natural leadership, empowerment and one-team mentality to achieve the best results for our customers and partners globally.

Our CIO, Simon Raymer commented: “At Fraedom we are not afraid to constantly challenge ourselves to find new ways to empower our incredibly talented teams. Building and maintaining a successful culture requires everyone to be open to new ideas and constantly strive to create an environment that encourages and celebrates diversity of thought, empowerment and a one-team approach. This award is fantastic recognition for everyone at Fraedom.”
